Welcome to Hotel MORE — a research in progress on and within overtourism on the Adriatic coast.
Hotel MORE is an imaginary hotel named after the sea that attracts more and more tourists each year. The project started as a series of interventions staged in August on the beaches of the Makarska riviera. Identifying the towel and the pebble as tools for claiming and negotiating space amongst tourists, the project relies on them to define pockets of space without people. Plots of beach that reject tourists through the tourist choreography.
Hotel MORE takes the shape of an archive of beach-images, documentation of interventions in the form of cyanotypes and a historical and geographical mapping of tourism on the Croatian coast.
